The house, which has undergone several reconstructions in different periods, has gained new harmony thanks to the adjustment of the layout and choice of materials. During the reconstruction, we emphasized the unification of the spaces by using natural materials and shades of color. The wooden floor, ivory plaster on the walls and built-in furniture in natural shades harmonize with solitary furniture made of solid wood, creating a calm and pleasant environment. The goal was also to create a space in neutral tones that will allow the owners’ artwork to stand out.
The originally dark, cramped space with low ceilings has been optically enlarged and brightened thanks to the expansion of the window openings. The adjacent areas of the winter garden, toilets and staircase have only had their surface finishes changed, which has resulted in their better connection with the other parts of the house.
This space is ideal for large family gatherings, but also for the owners’ everyday functioning. Adjacent to it is a wine cellar with an ideal temperature for storing wine, which is complemented by a bar seating area. We have placed a private zone for the owners in the latest extension, which includes a bedroom, bathroom, study, laundry room and sufficient storage space along the corridor.
This suspended ceiling also serves to guide the electrical installations and smart home systems. By carefully selecting lights adapted to the lower ceilings, we have chosen a combination of functional, design and ambient solutions. This variability allows us to set different modes according to the current activity. The reconstruction of this house is not only about modernization, but also about creating a coherent space that respects both the history of the house and the needs of its current inhabitants.
