On a sloping plot with a nice view of the surrounding landscape stands a brick house with a gable roof and brizolite plaster. In the design, we work with the existing volume, which we have cleaned of the inappropriate veranda extension and in its place we are placing a garage with a new entrance. We underline all new constructions on the facade with wooden cladding. We tint the cleaned existing volumes in darker shades of gray plaster. The living terrace enlarges the living room space and connects the interior with the exterior. It is primarily oriented to the west side (towards the view), but wraps around the house to the southern part of the garden, which provides more privacy. For this reason, a swimming pool was placed here, which we are revitalizing in the design and adding outdoor recessed seating.
The house will be beautifully lit and newly insulated, including the attic. The windows will be replaced, the heating system will be changed to heat pumps, and the interior layout will be adjusted. Another significant change is the new location of the staircase, which we moved due to the unsuitable underpass height and also due to the direct connection of all floors.
Thanks to the sloping plot, the western facade of the underground floor is connected to the garden. On the ground floor there is the main living area with a generous kitchen, which can be connected to the terrace through sliding windows. The study, which can serve as a guest room, is located near the entrance areas and bathrooms. In addition to the garage, the new extension will also include a spacious entrance hall with an adjoining cloakroom. On the second floor there are two children’s rooms with an adjoining bathroom and an entrance to the master bedroom. This space is designed as a maisonette open to the roof with a glazed gable facing west.
The entrance hall serves as a lounge and also leads to the dressing room, bathroom and, via a spiral staircase, to the bedroom itself.
