The house was built in the 1970s, and over time the building was extended and supplemented with various extensions until its form became somewhat illegible.
The investor’s initial intention was to reduce the energy requirements of the house and the heating method, as well as the organisation of the internal layout and the zoning of the building. The main intention of the architects was to simplify and purify the structure to create pure cubic masses that blend and complement each other.
In total, there are 4 apartments with multiple layouts. The roof of the house is transformed in the design into a residential roof terrace, which offers views of the Prague skyline. The surroundings of the house are arranged in such a way that the terrain on the north, east and south sides is connected to the 1st floor level.
On the south side of the house a new swimming pool with a terrace is designed, which freely flows into the garden. The garden respects the original layout but with the pool and terrace adds a new dimension as per the client’s brief.
