We successfully tackled the challenge of renovating the original structure, a typical 90s cottage made of low-quality materials and with an unsuitable layout. How did we handle this task?
Within the original perimeter walls, we designed a spacious and bright interior with a large bathroom and a living area featuring a kitchen and a fireplace on the ground floor. On the upper floor, we placed a children’s room, a bedroom, and a study.
For the exterior, our design aimed to integrate the cottage into the surrounding recreational buildings of the Slapy area. The facade is made of weathered wood, and the roof has a steep pitch and is made of metal. Since the garden shed now obstructs the view from the house, we decided to relocate it closer to the driveway. This way, nothing will obstruct the beautiful view of the river and the surrounding cliffs. Additionally, it will create an open space in front of the house for a fire pit with a bench. It will be an ideal spot for spending leisure time with family and friends.
